چکیده
Electrospun scaffolds of the biodegradable and biocompatible poly-4-hydroxybutyrate (P4HB) polyester have been prepared using horizontal vertical set-up configurations electrospinning. Specifically, it has evaluated influence solvent, polymer concentration, processing parameters, such as applied voltage, flow rate, needle tip-collector distance. Scaffolds obtained under most favorable conditions were characterized in terms crystallinity, lamellar supramolecular order, thermal (including calorimetric thermogravimetric data), mechanical, surface properties. Results pointed out significant differences with respect to commercial sutures (based P4HB, e.g., MonoMax®) demonstrated that electrospun constituted by crystalline microfibers a tangled distribution leads high modulus Young (4 MPa), maximum strength (28 elongation (360%). Furthermore, new had stability rough led hydrophobic character (105°). could also be successfully loaded during electrospinning process peptide analog fibroblast growth factor (e.g., CYRSRKYSSWYVALKRC), giving rise fully samples clear acceleration wound healing.

Enhanced wound healing with biodegradable scaffolds
Deep wounds, such as third-degree burns, often heal with disfiguring scars that are inelastic and lack sweat glands, oil glands, and hair follicles. Therapies that stimulate the regeneration of blood vessels in the wound could significantly improve the healing process, but remain elusive. Guoming Sun et al. (pp. 20976–20981) assessed whether a biodegradable, dextranbased hydrogel—a 3D network o...

متن کاملElectrospun nanostructured scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.
Despite being known for decades (since 1934), electrospinning has emerged recently as a very widespread technology to produce synthetic nanofibrous structures. These structures have morphologies and fiber diameters in a range comparable with those found in the extracellular matrix of human tissues. Therefore, nanofibrous scaffolds are intended to provide improved environments for cell attachmen...
